Week 38

Week 38 (Sept 30th-Oct 6th)
9/30 Boy do you want to walk. It's amazing to see you on the move. Crawling faster and faster. You came over to me and put your hand up for me to grab it and then you proceed to stand. It's really amazing to see the trust that is there because you won't do that to other things. You know daddy or I will hold you up.
On Sat Oct 3rd we took you to the pumpkin patch in San Carlos for your first pumpkin. We took your O'Hara grandparents along with us. You were ready for a nap so you were a bit tired and distracted but you still had a good time and I was able to take pictures of you, which I love.
You love Tofu! I'm not surprised but in a way I am? Makes no sense, I know. But you had the crumbs alllll over your face. It falls apart so easily but you love digging in it, moving it around and picking it up with your fingers.
You stood up using the dining room chair. I think you felt pretty secure there but I sat nearby to make sure you didn't knock your head. You did sooo well.
We attended an introduction to sign language class. You loved it. The attention, the crawling around and hooo'ing.
10/6 You started to walk on your hands today! Not just the army crawl anymore.

Week 37

Week 37 (Sept 23rd-Sept 29th)
9/28 Lately you have been wanting to stand up in your bath rather than sit and play with your toys. It's quite funny. You get irritated and then reach to grab my arms or hands so you can pull yourself up. Then you get all excited when you are standing. This is great in the heat because you don't get cold. Naps are still going great. 3 naps a day and still about 1 1/2hrs. You love every food still which is great. I get a wide open mouth wanting more. We are still working on your sign language with you and hope you will catch on soon :)

I love this picture of you that I took in the kitchen. You got into all sorts of things and seemed to love it.

Week 36

Week 36 (Sept 16th-22nd)
9/20 Daddy and I have been peaking in on you at night to see you sleeping with your butt in the air. I think you have caught on to us. Two nights in a row you've woken up and stared at us from the crib. What do we do? We stand still as if we are invisible and you can't see us. HA! Don't move is what we whisper to each other and we giggle. HA yeah you can't hear that. Then you get upset and I feel bad we woke you. How on earth could you go back to sleep! Luckily it was just a few tears and back to sleep you go. I guess we can't do that anymore. Darn it. You look so cute when you sleep.
You started using your fingers more recently. I gave you some Gerber puffins and you had soo much fun trying to eat those. Such concentration with pointing at it and trying to pick it up. You are really focused on trying to eat it yourself. Way to go!
22/23 We've had a couple of rough nights with you. On the 22nd you woke up crying. Figured you were just upset and we were going to leave but you got worse. I went in and your leg was stuck in the crib. So we picked you up and gave you a bottle and you were wide awake! Oh my were we tired. So we tried to wear you out and let you walk and crawl around. The next night you were up twice. the first time at 1am. Crying sooo hard and loud so we got you up and hung out with you for awhile, gave you a bottle and eventually put you back to sleep. Then awake around 5ish, not quite sure because I didn't want to get up to look at the time. I just knew it was dark and that it wasn't time to get you. You just made noise and kicked around but at 6ish am you were done lying there so I got you up and fed you.

Week 35

Week 35 (Sept 9-Sept 15)
9/11 You have been crawling sooo much it's awesome. You are moving pretty fast too!
It's all about the army crawl daddy says by crawling on your forearms and elbows. Ok... but no army for you. HA
9/14 You pulled yourself up using your bumbo chair. I couldnt believe it. I turned around and there you were pulling yourself up. You would have kept going but the seat starting to go from under you and then you moved on to something else. "squirrel!" ha
I love this picture. I rented a lens and we decided to head to the park for some photos. You were sooo tired, you poor thing, you put your head down on daddys shoulder. You've never done that so we knew you were tired! You were so good though and let me take photos of you.

Week 34

                                                                                                       Week 34 (Sept 2-Sept 8)
9/6 I'd say you officially started to crawl a little bit. Up on all fours and rockin' back and forth. Sooo kewl! It's so fun to see how excited you are to be doing this and you are pushing the limits of your movement which is awesome. You definitely have your own language of baba's and gaga's. This photo was taken the day after of your real crawling all over the place. I HAD to get tons of these! XO

Week 33

Week 33 (Aug 26th-Sept 1st)
8/27 Well you fell... on my watch. Twice. IT was awful for both of us. You hit your head as you rolled off the couch. UGGG I thought you'd be fine while I went to the bathroom real quick. I gave you your toothbrush usually you sit in place until I return. Not this time. Then you fell off the bed, didn't bang your head this time thank god but I think it really scared you more than anything. I will definitely not be leaving you alone on anything off of the floor. sheeshh.
8/28 We had block party today and most of the party was on our lawn. Yeah! Our neighbors were kind enough to get a jumpy house and all the kids enjoyed it on our lawn. It was great to hang out with our neighbors. You had a great time as usual. You have this break out on your face that's pretty bad and I am trying to figure out if it's banana's, the grass you ate and threw up or the sun. So we'll try to figure it out. Cream on the face for now and you are fastttt asleep. Yeah!!
8/30 Plums were a hit this morning of course they are sweet! I loved them! Baked them in the oven, skins fell right off. Super sweet. You've been starting to say words like baba, gaga and dada. This morning you started shaking your head no but you don't know what the word means thank god :)

Week 32 (Aug 19th-Aug 25th)

Week 32 (Aug 19th-Aug 25th)
We left Friday for Santa Cruz to be in Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna's wedding! We stayed in a gorgeous place called the Chaminade where we set up your pack and play and black out shades so you could have a comfortable place to sleep. You were part of the wedding all dressed in your tux. We jammed to the church just before 2pm and switched you from your pj's into your tux. You looked soo cute! Daddy and you headed up to Communion so daddy could receive the Eucharist and you decided you wanted some as well. You grabbed for the bowl and you wouldn't let go! Dropped daddy's glasses, we were all cracking up. I don't think we have that on video or in pics at all but it's a moment we won't forget. Everyone loved seeing you and holding you. They took turns passing you around and you did SOO great. Your cousin Danny has renamed you Devlin HA I didn't have the heart to correct him and figured he'd find out later. Boy did he. His sons Sean and Andrew used it for the benefit :))

We knew when you were done when it was late in the evening, passed your bedtime, and you started to cry. Daddy was soooo wonderful and took you off to bed to sleep while I stayed with the wedding party to do things with them.

Week 31 (Aug 12th-Aug 18th)

You are rolling allll over the place and quick too! More teeth coming in on top. The top right tooth is in and the one next to it is starting to come in as well as the left front tooth. CRAZY! Could explain why the past few nights you have been waking up kind of upset in the middle of the night. We took you to Matthew Lim's 1st birthday party at Moonstar in Daly City and you were asleep in the car with your head all sideways. I waited in the car as long as I could and had to wake you up which sucked. You were upset and I don't blame you so that made the next hour difficult. The place was super crowded and a bit loud for you so you weren't quite happy being there. I haven't seen you dive for all the stuff on the table before which was both entertaining and frustrating. So we decided to take off and head home.

Carrots were a hit this time! I mixed them up with rice cereal and I think that helped.

Week 30 (Aug 5th-Aug 11th)

Week 30 (Aug 5th-Aug 11th)
Aug 5th
Last week you started up with making lots of noises like "wow", "ho" and lots of screaming too :) as of right now you are in your crib and screaming. Not in a bad way, you just like to listen to yourself make noises. I'm hoping you will go to sleep soon :) We just got back from grocery shopping and you fell asleep for 5 min and now you are wide awake. We've been working on more veggies for you. You tried avocado the other day and it went well. I tried it yesterday and you didn't like it as much. It could be that it was two different avocados. One more day of avocado and we'll try something else!

Aug 11th
Just the other day we felt the 2nd top tooth coming in (this will be your 4th tooth). I put you in your new stroller - Baby Jogger: Mini City to put a plug in for them. We loved it! Took you for a walk this afternoon. We tried pears and zucchini and you loved both! You still do an "I don't like it" face but that's just the initial feel of something new. Then you open up and want more!
Last week you were in your walker and I started to chase you saying I'm going to get you and you took off hopping like a bunny; screaming and laughing. Then when I caught up to you I'd scream and laugh and hug into you. You loved it, big hit. I can't believe you can do this so young. I didn't realize that would happen. We had to show daddy that night and now he does it too! Daddy is in Taiwan right now for work until next Wed and then we are off to Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna's wedding! YEAH! We've been doing Skype with Daddy and I can not believe you are able to see Daddy and smile at him when he gives you funny faces. It's really fun to watch and Daddy loves it too.
Mommy has been taking an online photography class for two weeks and taking a ton of pictures of you since it's based on babies/toddlers/kids so it was a lot of fun trying different poses and lighting. We had to do a Gerber baby food ad that had part of my hand, the spoon and you smiling. I think I did it! I posted the pic I like the best.

Week 29 (July 29th-August 4th)

Week 29 (July 29th-August 4th)
We've tried more baby food items and you love pears and peaches. I figured you would. What baby wouldn't! I was surprised you loved zucchini (home grown by the Otero family) and sweet potatoes. I'm going to retry the peas and carrots with some rice cereal and see how that goes.
Mommy did a photo shoot of you in your Rolling Stones shirt from Auntie Mo. So, of course, daddy had to bust out the electric guitar for added effect. We had tons of fun even though you were irritated at times. Very cute pics. ROCK ON!

Week 28 (July 22nd-July 28)

Week 28 (July 22nd-July 28th)
Sun July 23
We had your baptism at St. Barts in San Mateo with just our parents and our siblings as well as our Godparents Kim and Mark Otero. I had to get you this cute island style top that looks just like daddy's. When you were being baptized daddy held you over the "bowl" if you will and you leaned alllll the way back to take a good look as to what was on the other side. We all started laughing it was hilarious. It made me think that I am glad we waited to have you baptized because you have soo much more personality now. You are quite the little kid I tell ya.
Mon July 26
I tried giving you pureed carrots with a bit of formula and you took a bite and didn't like it. Then you wouldn't open your mouth to take another. I have to admit it was funny but hopefully you will like something else I give you. I'm keeping the carrots in the freezer for now. You are still sleeping great. 6pm-6am! yeah!
Tues July 27
We went to Winnie's to visit for a bit in the afternoon and you got to hang out with Emma. Wow you were sooo excited to see her. You put your arms out forward as if you wanted to come hug or hold her. It was hilarious. Then you started grabbing her toys. Oh boy haaa but she was fine with it and stared at you :) You tried some fresh sweet peas that Winnie made but still no dice on liking it. We'll try again.
Wed July 28th
I gave you some new rice cereal that I got from Winnie and you seemed to like that a bit better. i'll try again this afternoon.

Week 27 (July 15th-July 21st)

Week 27 (July 15th-July 21st)
Sunday July 18th We gave you a bath and daddy got curious george with bubbles and brought it into the tub. Daddy squeezed the tummy and you started cracking up at it! It was hysterical. I have it on video. This is the first time you laughed at something besides us :)

On Tues July 20th - Looks like you have a new tooth coming in on top! You are still doing great with no fuss. Last week we started to brush your teeth and you seem to like that, though you would prefer to just chew and drool all over it.

Week 26 (July 8-July 14)

Week 26 (July 8-July 14)
On (July 9th) Friday You had your 6 month doctors appt and it went well minus the shots. I hate seeing you cry when you get those. But it was brief and I gave you a new toy that you eventually took some interest in :) Your Uncle Joe came by that afternoon and saw you in your new walker. You were cracking up in that thing. He got it on video. Sooo cute.

July 11-13 we drove to Venice beach and stayed in a super cute modern vacation rental on the beach. We had a small closet that worked out to put your pack and play in and put up the dark shades. We did a lot of walking around and seeing the crazy folks on the Venice beach. Mommy took lots of pics. You slept on some walks and did soo great sleeping at night! And no duct tape this round :)))

July 13/14th. Daddy and I went to go get you in your crib and we say you were on your tummy, frustrated. Then later I found you and you had your leg sticking out of the crib and crying pretty loud because you got stuck. Scared the living daylights out of me. Another reason for mommy to not sleep now. yipesss. Hopefully you'll start to turn back over on your back :)

Week 25 (July 1-July 7)

Week 25 (July 1-July 7)
Mommy is falling behind on my posts so I'm playing catch up now :)
I put you down for an afternoon nap and you were so upset I had to pick you back up cuz you were crying. So I walked you around in your room and you started making the raspberry noise. I guess you must not be that upset then. haaa

We went up to sea ranch with winnie, Doug and Emma to stay in a friends cabin. It was really nice and mellow and you did pretty good for the most part. The place has a lot of light so we tried to find a place for you to sleep. you should have seen, well you did see but you won't remember, the concoctions for trying to make your pack and play as dark as possible. After you hadn't napped allllll day that Saturday we decided to set up the corner by the closet to give you more darkness. we hung a black out curtain just outside the closet and it was held down by duct tape. and it worked magically. We woke up to daddy cracking up so hard and he brought you over to me and you had duct tape stuck to your head. It was hysterical and, oh yes, I have pictures of that! Doug and Winnie were snorting they were laughing so hard. Daddy wanted to use WD40 but thought the chemicals were not a good idea. We tried olive oil but then you started to get fussy with how sticky this darn duct tape was so then Doug suggested alcohol pads and that worked like a charm. PHEWWWW. Way to go for hanging in there and not crying over it.
You started to sit up on your own a lot better! we can tell you are trying to balance because you can see it in your legs and toes as you try to keep yourself upright. very nice!
You loved hanging out with Emma and staring at her or staring at Winnie while she was holding Emma. We have lots of pictures of the two of you as well.

Week 24 (June 24-June 30)

You started rice cereal today! Of course you didn't like it. But you wanted to play with the spoon instead. I took a few pics so I have proof. I can hear you sucking your thumb in bed right now (6/24 at 11:06pm). I am entering some pics of you into different contests. How can I not you are sooo cute! I'll let you know if you win :) One is for the cover of Parents magazine and the other is for best hat which you know you should win hands down thanks to the volunteers at the hospital who made that tomato hat for you.

You and daddy came into the room this morning and daddy says watch this and makes this noise with his mouth - what we call raspberries. Then you copied and you did it too! It was thee cutest thing ever.

Week 23 (June 17-June23)

Today was your Daddy's first Father's day. You, well we, got him the funniest monkey card with moving eyeballs. He gave it to you to chew on it and you should see what it looks like now. Then we met up with nana and grandpa and uncle joe and auntie shanna for lunch. You were sooo tired but would not fall asleep. We notice you don't do that much on the go anymore so I try to keep you at home to nap in your crib as much as possible. Then we saw your other grandparents later that evening and they got a chance to see how big you are and all of your facial expressions and noises. You have a ton of new toys and things from gabbie. Unfortunately, they are moving to Pennsylvania which is really sad for mommy and I hope they hurry back to California.

mon jun 21st
We were able to meet up with nana and grandpa and hang out with them. We wanted to go buy your christening outfit but they were closed. Your grandparents bought you a new stroller for your next phase of baby hood. Thank you nana and grandpa!! It's a very kewl stroller, the latest and greatest and compact too! love it and can't wait to get it. They were able to see a lot more of your personality today because you felt so much more comfortable and it was so much fun to watch. They loved to see you smile so much and hear all the squealing and your arms all over the place.
I don't know if I have mentioned this before but you started twisting your bottle when you drink. You've discovered you can control the bottle yourself. Fun to watch.
You are completely into grabbing everyone's faces. And it can hurt sometimes especially if you have sharp nails. But you are discovering the world of faces.

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Week 22 (June 10-June 16)

So you've gone from eating from your own bottle to hugging it while you eat and now you turn and twist it. It's fun to watch even though it is taking you longer to eat :) You have really discovered how to maneuver things on your own and to watch the concentration is quite exciting.

You realized that you make noise when you breath in! So you are making tonsss of noise breathing in and I'm trying to copy you and you look at me with big eyes like what is that!!!!!

Auntie Gabbie gave you her Jumperoo so we put you in that and you loved it. squealing! We have lots of pictures of that.

Week 21 (June 3-June 9)

You started to roll over on Saturday, June 5th. Daddy got it on video!

I gave you kitchen items to play with this evening and you had a blast with them.

Your naps are still good. Roughly 2-3hrs. sometimes it's 45min and I try to wait to come get you so that you can get your sleep.
I've noticed you end up with your lovey on your face and you keep it there. It's pretty funny. We had your bumper in your crib but you pulled it off the other night crying and had it all over your face. Daddy said ok thats it, it's coming out :)

Week 20 (May27-June 2)

I bought you a teething toy that received a lot of good recommendations. It's a Vulli something and you love it. It's a very thin rubber and you were chewing like crazy on it and pulling on it. So glad I bought it for you. I got a new camera, if I didn't already mention it earlier, and I did a fun photo shoot of you. You had started to roll over on the hardwood floor but your arm got in the way but you kept trying and trying!

Week 19

Today, May 21st we felt your gums and noticed the starting of your first tooth!! We are excited and a little afraid of what may happen to your mood. So please be good! HA
You almost rolled over yesterday. Daddy had you down on the floor and had you reaching for a toy over your head. You were getting there but gave up. We'll try again.

We put you in shoes for the first time yesterday and you looked so cute. You had a brown jogging outfit on and brown shoes. You looked like a RunDMC singer. Hopefully you'll get that when you grow up. Either that or I'll sound really old to you. ha

We got a new baby carrier called the Baby Bjorn and we've used it quite a bit and you love it! I walked to downtown 25th ave to the Post Office and you had a great time checking everything out around you. Yesterday (5/24) I took you to Safeway in Belmont and walked you around to get groceries. I gave you a green bean to play with. You kind of chewed on it and had fun drooling all over it. Too cute to watch.

The lower tooth is still comin in and you are handling it great! Still sleeping through the night. Roughly around 7-8pm and then wake up around 6-7am

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Week 18

Today (5/14) I was planning on taking you to the library for story time at 11:15 but you slept so long that we missed it. When you woke up I decided to do my own story time and take you to Barnes and Noble and do some reading of our own. You wanted to put every book and stuffed animal in your mouth so that part didn't work out so well. But we did manage to read a few books together even if you weren't paying attention too much.
We had Tamara's shower at the house. Our first party since you were born. It was definitely a success and a beautiful sunny day. You got to meet everyone but it did get overwhelming for you. All the new faces and loud voices made your lower lip come wayyy out. So I picked you up out of your bumper chair and brought you into your room where it was nice and quiet. Then daddy grabbed a bottle and came in to feed you and hang out with you in a nice/quiet place.

I bought you a new teething toy that got rave reviews (Vulli teethers) and boy have you chewed on that. It's funny to watch you chewing on it because you make different noises and you really chew. I hope it will last awhile!

Tonight Daddy and I went out for a couple of hours to AT&T park in SF for an event through the University of Portland where your dad went to college. You stayed with you grandma Lola and Grandpa Tim. Unfortunately, we came home to you bawling and it was soo sad. We knew you had been crying hard, you were all red and full of tears. I won't be leaving you in the evenings again for awhile until you get used to people first.

Friday, May 14, 2010

Week 17

The start of this week was your 4 month check up to Dr. Mason with more shots. Not fun for you or for me. You are now at 16.4lbs and growing strong still. You are in the 75 percentile on basically everything which is great news. Very fussy Friday night from your shots so it was hard to comfort you but you eventually cried so hard that you were tired and put yourself to sleep.

Mother's Day was on Sunday. My first one thanks to you! I feel soo lucky and so blessed to have you in my life, I wouldn't change it one bit. Both of your grandparents were here last night for dinner. Daddy and I made them dinner to celebrate them. We had a really great time and they loved taking turns holding you. It was tough at times because you are still getting used to their faces and you don't remember who they are just yet so you got a bit overwhelmed which we knew would happen because Dr. Mason told us that on Friday so we were prepared.

Today we are just hanging out in the rain, playing games, reading books and taking naps.

You've officially found your toes. It's quiet hilarious. At first you were only able to grab the left one and then boom you found the right one a few days later and now it's this fun game of grabbing your toes while on your back. It definitely makes changing you very challenging but funny at the same time.

The picture of you that is listed here shows you hanging on to the monkey in your car seat and you have been doing this every time we put you in the car seat. It's like your on a bus waiting for the next stop. So cute!

Love you!

Week 16

Well lots of talking still.. especially first thing in the morning when you wake up. You'd rather talk than eat but it's sooo cute. Daddy has lots of video of you making all kinds of noises.

You are still doing well with sleeping which is great. I got you sick again so it's been tough at times in the evening because you get fussy probably because you are congested and your nose is runnin' like crazy.

You've been kind of fussy again the past couple of days (5/3 5/4) but still sleeping pretty well. Daddy said last night you were wide awake at midnight kicking around in your crib. He let you kick away to your mobile and you eventually fell asleep. YA! I took you up to Gabbie's this afternoon to hang out with Liana and Ainsley. The weather was so nice we were able to put you in the kiddie pool with your cute little board shorts. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture but I know there will be many more times like this since the weather is getting better. Sleep tight! XO

Your milestone this week is definitely being able to hold your bottle on your own! The thumbs are a little weak still so it's hard for you to hold it upward but you are definitely having fun pulling it in and out of your mouth ha

Saturday, May 1, 2010

Week 15

Dave and Julie are here with their two girls Madison (5) and Olivia (3). Madison held you in her arms... so cute. You have this big 'ol head next to hers. You had so much fun looking at them and watching them play and smiling the whole week.

We brought you to a local park called Ryder Park on a nice warm day. Daddy put you in the sand for the very first time but you didn't seem to care one way or another. We decided not to do a dream feed for you last night and it worked! Daddy put you to bed around 8:15pm and as I'm typing this at 6:20am you are still asleep. Yeah!!! Too bad I'm not. The great part too is that we took you to Livermore to go wine tasting, hung out at Concannon the whole afternoon outside. You were in and out of naps. sooo great and mellow as usual and you still made it through the night without waking up. We are sooo thrilled. Now im sitting here, Day 2, and I want to wake you up so I can see your cute little face.

Today we are going to head up to San Francisco with the Kline's and check out the trolley and head to the beach. Let's hope for good weather. Well we got great weather!! You were soo good just hanging out in your car seat/stroller checking out the local scene and taking naps here and there.

You have been talkin' up a storm especially in the morning. Lots of coo'ing and googling. I need to remember to record it so you can hear it years from now. You haven't been eating as much as we had hoped so there's been some waking up at night around 4 or so, really depends but it hasn't been bad at all.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Week 14

I put you in the next sized diaper just a bit ago (4/15) and you are sitting next to me on the couch as I am typing I hear this loud toot, I look over at you and you are bright red and then boom an explosion in your diaper I am assuming. haaaaaa good thing you have a new larger diaper on!

You are starting picking up your animals and looking them straight in the face and then putting them in your mouth and now you just keep putting stuff in your mouth and drooling all over the place. You also started holding your toys and started to turn them to fit them in your mouth, you don't quite have that one down yet because you end up with your fist in your mouth but you seem content with that most of the time.

We've been doing 'dream feeds' for you. We feed you when you are asleep around 11pm or 12am to help you get through the night instead of waiting for you to wake up and get fussy. That has worked out great. Your schedule seemed to be that you were going to bed around 8pm or 8:30pm so we've been going with that.

It was my 37th birthday on April 19th and Auntie Shanna and Uncle Joe said they would watch you for the evening the night before my birthday so that daddy could take me out. I wasn't too nervous because I knew you were in good hands. We were gone for about 6hrs and daddy and I enjoyed some drinks and appetizers at Sam's on the water in Half Moon Bay and then strolled on over to the Ritz Carlton at Navio for a fancy dinner. It was soooo delicious. You must check it out :) Thank you for being sooo good!

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Week 13

You started grabbing your toys and really looking at them and putting them in your mouth. I still remember when you didn't even care or maybe it was that you couldn't see those things around you just yet.

We are wondering if you are starting to teeth. Daddy was rubbing your upper gums and boy did you like that. You were like a dog getting rubbed behind his ears. ha
Sleep is back to being iffy again as we think you are teething. You are also having a hard time getting to your 32oz maximum for the past few days. We hope it is just the fact that you are teething and you'll get back to your normal routine, whatever that is, soon. ha

You met our friends twins, 10 month old Finn and Enzo yesterday (4/10) for the first time. They were rollin around here on the ground. It was fun to see them and to look ahead at where you will be going!

Friday, April 9, 2010

Week 12

I colored easter eggs while you took a nap. ha
We had Easter at grandma and grandpa's in Sonora.
Your Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna bought you a cute Easter basket with your very own little Easter bunny in a cute furry duck basket. Unfortunately, daddy's car kept breaking down but we made it home while your Uncle and Aunt followed closely.
You had a complete meltdown at the Elephant Bar in Hayward as we waited for daddy's car to cool down. Thankfully you fell asleep again. When you woke up you had great smiles and big eyes again as if nothing happened. ha

You are using your tongue more often when you are laughing and making noises and definitely making more noises. Daddy took a picture of you standing up and he was only holding you with one hand. We can't believe you can actually stand up at 3 months.
daddy and I gave you a bath tonight (4/5) and boy were you talkin up a storm and starting to crack up and the more we laughed the more you made noise. Then you pee'd in your tub and we were crackin up watching you pee in your bath water. lol
we love ya!

Week 11

We went to a sleep class with Winnie, Doug and their little Emma as well as Kathy and Chris and their little Kaitlin to get some understand of how we are going to deal with you ha So I'm working on your napping and eating this week to get you more regulated for night sleeping. Wish me luck sweetie. This is supposed to help you later in life, so you can thank me then! ha
You are sleeping 5hrs at night which is great and you tend to want to go to bed around 8:30, give or take a half hour which is great for daddy and I. I love your new coo'ing and googling noises you are making. You still love your baths and hopefully when the weather gets better daddy can start taking you swimming. He can't wait!

Week 10

You started making more sounds and hearing your voice.
We started putting you in your crib for naps during the day to get you used to your room. At times it works great and other times it's more work. Just depends on your mood right now :)
You still have your cold but you are smiling a lot now and starting to laugh a little.
Sleeping is still the same but it's normal since you are still very young my cutie.

Week 9

Your first day at week 9 and you had your dr appt. 2 shots and boy did you not like those. Thankfully you didn't cry long though.
It's so painful to watch you get upset. Today you weight 13lbs 12oz and 2 ft long!!
Unfortunately, you had a rough evening and we couldnt get you to stop crying. It was so sad. I think you finally wore yourself down and passed out.

We went to Seattle. Your first flight! Boy was I worried. I'm not even sure why because you slept on the plane both ways! How good were you! We had suchhhh a blast though meeting up with everyone. You were so mellow all weekend. You met your new friend Delaney Grace who is just 29 days younger than you are. Her mom and me talked all the time during our pregnancies. It was nice to finally meet up.
And you had your first cold when we got back home along with me. This soo isn't fun for either of us.

Onward and upward baby!

Week 8

We met up with Chris, Kathy and their little one, Kaitlin who is 6 months. The two of you got to hang out for the first time on the table outside of Oasis in Menlo Park (good burgers). We got a few pics of you which was really cute. Kaitlin reached out to hold your arm which was soooo cute. You kept looking at her.
You are growing out of your 0-3mo old clothes! I couldn't believe it when I put you in this white outfit with feet and the feet were tight and your sleeves didn't touch your wrists. HA! Amazing how fast you are growing. You are definitely shaping into this little boy and not so much a baby anymore especially when we put you in little boy clothes like a polo shirt and jeans. Very cute.
daddy and I celebrated our 1yr anniversary and we went to Izzy's Steakhouse and brought you with us. You slept the whole time so thank you for letting daddy and I have a romantic evening together.
I took you to your first class at Gymboree on Tuesday and you loved it! We got to sing songs and look at colors. After class I was holding and patting you while talking to the teacher and you completely passed out. Then you slept for 2 1/2 hours! haaaaaa
We took you to the post office today to get your passport photo and application taken care of. You were awake and very good as the lady took your photo. Now, we wait and see how it goes and hopefully take a trip to Taiwan with Daddy!! We might even get to meet Auntie Colleen while we are there!

You started putting your hands together in front of you and making cooing sounds. I can tell you recognize your voice now and are trying to make all kinds of sounds.

Daddy helped you up by your hands in the bed this week and you stood up on the bed. Amazing at the strong legs you have already at 2 months is unbelievable.

Week 7

You finally slept 5 hours almost each night! yeah!!! Very nice for mommy. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to update what's been going on too much but I will try to as these weeks go on. We celebrated Grandpa Joe's 70th birthday together which was really nice. We went to a place called Rok in Sunnyvale where you cook your own meat at the table. You'd think if you had to cook your own meat that it would be cheaper! ha You slept pretty much the whole time. Towards the end we were able to pass you around the table to everyone so they had a chance to hold you. Then we stayed with Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna that night which was great. You slept between Daddy and I in bed and you slept really well and so did Mommy finally. We went to church, all of us, the next morning to see Father Gene O'Donnell. He blessed you as we went up to Communion. What a great weekend!

Week 6

You had your first set of shots on fri 2/12. I was feeding you at the time to distract you but you cried so hard that it tore me up inside that we hurt you :( But thankfully you didnt cry long and I continued to feed you again. good job!

We are working on getting your birth certificate and your passport so we can fly with your daddy to Taiwan for work. I really hope this works out. I'm kind of nervous about traveling such a long flight with you so we'll see what the doctor says just to make sure. If we are unable to go then we can go up to sonora and stay with grandma and grandpa for the week. :)

Week 5

Well this week, my dear, you started staring at my mouth when I talk and listening to what I'm saying. It's the cutest thing ever. You get all bright eyed and quiet. I'm trying to repeat words to you over and over so you get to know them for when you start talking. I started singing twinkle twinkle little star which you seem to really enjoy because you are totally staring at me.
your head and neck have become even stronger and it's amazing how much you sit up on your own already! You are fitting into this little booster seat even better now.

We went on our first full day trip with your Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna to do wedding stuff with them and you did soooo great. I was so proud.

You smiled at me this week. I was changing you in the living room and talking to you and you smiled! I loved it so much, you brought tears to my eyes.
Daddy worked from home on Wednesday and I went out for a bit to get some mommy time. I headed to Barnes and Noble for some photography reading to take better pictures of you. I bought you your first book called "Guess how much I love you" by Sam McBratney illustrated by Anita Jeram and read it to you. I was surprised that you were so entertained. You lied there on the bed listened to me quite intently.

I read that you have been going through a growth spurt from week 4 to week 6 and boy can I agree with that. You have been eating sooo much it's amazing. Sometimes hourly! But we are so thankful you aren't picky about formula, bottles compared to nursing. Daddy loves changing you because you make the most wonderful squeaks and grunts. And your arms are still punching and legs are still kickin' as you discover how to use them.

Thank you for another wonderful week, we love you!

XO

Week 4

You met your Auntie Colleen the other day (1/28). It was nice for you two to meet in person after seeing her on the computer screen for the past few weeks. She enjoyed staring at you and your cute little toes like we do.

You've gotten a bit fussier now when you are awake and sleep has dwindled a bit but we still try putting you in the swing which you love! We are so thankful you have those things to stimulate you to sleep.

My childhood friend Carla, who does photography, came to take your picture and boy did they turn out sooo great! We are having your baby announcements printed from those photographs and we can't wait to show you off.

You slept with daddy all night until 5am when I woke up to find neither of you in the room. I went to daddy's office and saw you two were hangin out in there. I took you off daddy's hands so he could sleep. Then I wanted some sleep too. I put the swing just outside our bedroom door and put you in it and you fell back to sleep. yeah!

You started following my face from side to side and really staring at me and figuring out who I am. It is the sweetest thing, I want it to last forever!

Grandma and Grandpa (Murtagh) came down to visit for a few days and they just love looking at you and holding you. You look a lot like mommy and Uncle Joe when we were babies and it's been fun to look at old pictures of when we were babies to compare. They bought you a cute outfit and windbreaker that you can wear when you are closer to one. Too cute!!

We took you to Beresford Park today (2/3)! We went on a long walk and met up with Gabbie, Liana and Ainsley and walked up to the park. The weather was actually nice for awhile. It eventually got pretty cold and windy but I was glad we went. You slept the whole time. That's my boy!

Week 3

I can't believe how much you have changed since the day you were born. Daddy and I have created a website for you, well for all of us really, so we can watch you grow up. You have definitely developed into this cute little baby boy. The faces and noises are so cute we can't stop staring at you. It's still raining here so we haven't been able to get out as much as we would like, but we try. You've definitely found out that being held is a lot more fun than lying there by yourself. We hope you won't kill us when we eventually move you in to your room.

I started going to the mommy group which meets every Tuesday and we rotate mom's houses. Usually there will be walking but it's been cold and rainy. We met at Vicki's house today, along with 5 other moms. I was a bit nervous at first but I was very glad we went. I should have brought my camera because all these babies were lined up in their car seats and I realized how fun it will be for you to grow up with all of these little ones :)

You started sucking your thumb today 1/27. I was getting your bottle ready and I don't think you up for waiting for it. I look down to see all 4 fingers up on your cheek and in your eye and your thumb in your mouth. Let's see if this stays around when your teeth come in :) I'm thinking about braces already. Haaa Daddy and I didn't have braces so we are crossing fingers on one less expense.

You get in these little quiet modes sometimes where you lie there so calm and stare at things. You look sooo content.

Feeding you in the middle of the night, gets challenging. We awake to feed you
roughly every 3 hours, sometimes 4 if we are lucky. Being that we are half asleep, we
sometimes fall back to sleep while feeding you. I wake up and find the bottle in your nose or on the bed and there you are just chillin waiting for me to give it back to you.

Week 2

Week 2

We took a stroll in downtown San Mateo today (1/15) and went to Peet's coffee. Such good,
strong coffee, you'll find out one day. We saw another little baby boy about the same age as you - so I thought. I was only going off of the size. I decided to stop and say hello and ask her how old her baby was. "Two months" she says to me and in return I say you were 8 days old!!! People can't believe it and they also can't believe how strong your mommy is in getting out there and walking around after having you not so long ago. We had a great day with daddy just strolling through Central Park with our Peet's coffee in hand. Here's to many more great days together. XO
It was raining on Sunday (Jan 17) and we wanted to get out of the house and go on a little walk
with you so we took you to Hillsdale Mall for a spin. We took you into the Disney store but
there wasn't much for newborns, but we did manage to take a picture with you embedded in
the stuffed animals. Then, of course, we had to head to the Lego store because it's one of
daddy's favorite, next to Toys R Us. We bought him, I mean you, some Lego's to use when you
get older and we are looking at spelling out your name in Lego's. Stay tuned!

Week 1

You were supposed to arrive on Jan 2nd but you weren't ready yet. As the days rolled on we were finally told to go into the hospital the night of Jan 5th. So we ordered some sushi for delivery and had Gabbie/Frank and the girls here and pigged out before going in. We stopped at CVS for magazines in case mommy was bored at the hospital and then strolled in to Stanford's labor/delivery Hospital once a bed was free (busy night there apparently!). My water broke right away and then the Pitocin began as they tried to induce you since my amniotic fluid was low. After 24hrs of labor followed by a c-section, you were born on January 7, 2010 weighing in at a big 9lbs 10oz and 22" long. Unfortunately, you had to be in the special care unit because mommy's temperature was rising and there was concern that it could be caused by an infection and wanted to make sure it wasn't passed on to you. Daddy was there by your side as they made sure you had nothing wrong. You were so quiet, calm and alert as you grabbed Daddy's pinky finger with your tiny hand. During your stay at the nursery, some wonderful volunteers gave you a hand knitted tomato cap for your head and a gorgeous quilt which we now have at home with us. You were the talk of the town, let me tell you. Everyone loved you and how big you were.

We stayed at the hospital for 4 days then squeezed you into the car seat for the drive home.
Having never fitted you into the seat before; Daddy was knocking you left and right up and down trying to get you locked in...You just sat there..sound asleep.

We've learned that feeding isn't always the easiest unless it's from the bottle. You scrunch your nose up and your eyebrows down and shake your head back and forth trying to find the nipple and we couldn't help but crack up at the frustrated little face as you tried to feed. Following your feedings is a hugeeeee amount of gas and poop which also cracks up your dad and I.

Today you turned 1 week old and already time has flown by. You're a constant amazement to stare at when your sleeping or when you are searching the room with your large dark grey eyes.
