Week 6

You had your first set of shots on fri 2/12. I was feeding you at the time to distract you but you cried so hard that it tore me up inside that we hurt you :( But thankfully you didnt cry long and I continued to feed you again. good job!

We are working on getting your birth certificate and your passport so we can fly with your daddy to Taiwan for work. I really hope this works out. I'm kind of nervous about traveling such a long flight with you so we'll see what the doctor says just to make sure. If we are unable to go then we can go up to sonora and stay with grandma and grandpa for the week. :)

Week 5

Well this week, my dear, you started staring at my mouth when I talk and listening to what I'm saying. It's the cutest thing ever. You get all bright eyed and quiet. I'm trying to repeat words to you over and over so you get to know them for when you start talking. I started singing twinkle twinkle little star which you seem to really enjoy because you are totally staring at me.
your head and neck have become even stronger and it's amazing how much you sit up on your own already! You are fitting into this little booster seat even better now.

We went on our first full day trip with your Uncle Joe and Auntie Shanna to do wedding stuff with them and you did soooo great. I was so proud.

You smiled at me this week. I was changing you in the living room and talking to you and you smiled! I loved it so much, you brought tears to my eyes.
Daddy worked from home on Wednesday and I went out for a bit to get some mommy time. I headed to Barnes and Noble for some photography reading to take better pictures of you. I bought you your first book called "Guess how much I love you" by Sam McBratney illustrated by Anita Jeram and read it to you. I was surprised that you were so entertained. You lied there on the bed listened to me quite intently.

I read that you have been going through a growth spurt from week 4 to week 6 and boy can I agree with that. You have been eating sooo much it's amazing. Sometimes hourly! But we are so thankful you aren't picky about formula, bottles compared to nursing. Daddy loves changing you because you make the most wonderful squeaks and grunts. And your arms are still punching and legs are still kickin' as you discover how to use them.

Thank you for another wonderful week, we love you!

XO

Week 4

You met your Auntie Colleen the other day (1/28). It was nice for you two to meet in person after seeing her on the computer screen for the past few weeks. She enjoyed staring at you and your cute little toes like we do.

You've gotten a bit fussier now when you are awake and sleep has dwindled a bit but we still try putting you in the swing which you love! We are so thankful you have those things to stimulate you to sleep.

My childhood friend Carla, who does photography, came to take your picture and boy did they turn out sooo great! We are having your baby announcements printed from those photographs and we can't wait to show you off.

You slept with daddy all night until 5am when I woke up to find neither of you in the room. I went to daddy's office and saw you two were hangin out in there. I took you off daddy's hands so he could sleep. Then I wanted some sleep too. I put the swing just outside our bedroom door and put you in it and you fell back to sleep. yeah!

You started following my face from side to side and really staring at me and figuring out who I am. It is the sweetest thing, I want it to last forever!

Grandma and Grandpa (Murtagh) came down to visit for a few days and they just love looking at you and holding you. You look a lot like mommy and Uncle Joe when we were babies and it's been fun to look at old pictures of when we were babies to compare. They bought you a cute outfit and windbreaker that you can wear when you are closer to one. Too cute!!

We took you to Beresford Park today (2/3)! We went on a long walk and met up with Gabbie, Liana and Ainsley and walked up to the park. The weather was actually nice for awhile. It eventually got pretty cold and windy but I was glad we went. You slept the whole time. That's my boy!
