Week 18

Today (5/14) I was planning on taking you to the library for story time at 11:15 but you slept so long that we missed it. When you woke up I decided to do my own story time and take you to Barnes and Noble and do some reading of our own. You wanted to put every book and stuffed animal in your mouth so that part didn't work out so well. But we did manage to read a few books together even if you weren't paying attention too much.
We had Tamara's shower at the house. Our first party since you were born. It was definitely a success and a beautiful sunny day. You got to meet everyone but it did get overwhelming for you. All the new faces and loud voices made your lower lip come wayyy out. So I picked you up out of your bumper chair and brought you into your room where it was nice and quiet. Then daddy grabbed a bottle and came in to feed you and hang out with you in a nice/quiet place.

I bought you a new teething toy that got rave reviews (Vulli teethers) and boy have you chewed on that. It's funny to watch you chewing on it because you make different noises and you really chew. I hope it will last awhile!

Tonight Daddy and I went out for a couple of hours to AT&T park in SF for an event through the University of Portland where your dad went to college. You stayed with you grandma Lola and Grandpa Tim. Unfortunately, we came home to you bawling and it was soo sad. We knew you had been crying hard, you were all red and full of tears. I won't be leaving you in the evenings again for awhile until you get used to people first.

Week 17

The start of this week was your 4 month check up to Dr. Mason with more shots. Not fun for you or for me. You are now at 16.4lbs and growing strong still. You are in the 75 percentile on basically everything which is great news. Very fussy Friday night from your shots so it was hard to comfort you but you eventually cried so hard that you were tired and put yourself to sleep.

Mother's Day was on Sunday. My first one thanks to you! I feel soo lucky and so blessed to have you in my life, I wouldn't change it one bit. Both of your grandparents were here last night for dinner. Daddy and I made them dinner to celebrate them. We had a really great time and they loved taking turns holding you. It was tough at times because you are still getting used to their faces and you don't remember who they are just yet so you got a bit overwhelmed which we knew would happen because Dr. Mason told us that on Friday so we were prepared.

Today we are just hanging out in the rain, playing games, reading books and taking naps.

You've officially found your toes. It's quiet hilarious. At first you were only able to grab the left one and then boom you found the right one a few days later and now it's this fun game of grabbing your toes while on your back. It definitely makes changing you very challenging but funny at the same time.

The picture of you that is listed here shows you hanging on to the monkey in your car seat and you have been doing this every time we put you in the car seat. It's like your on a bus waiting for the next stop. So cute!

Love you!

Week 16

Well lots of talking still.. especially first thing in the morning when you wake up. You'd rather talk than eat but it's sooo cute. Daddy has lots of video of you making all kinds of noises.

You are still doing well with sleeping which is great. I got you sick again so it's been tough at times in the evening because you get fussy probably because you are congested and your nose is runnin' like crazy.

You've been kind of fussy again the past couple of days (5/3 5/4) but still sleeping pretty well. Daddy said last night you were wide awake at midnight kicking around in your crib. He let you kick away to your mobile and you eventually fell asleep. YA! I took you up to Gabbie's this afternoon to hang out with Liana and Ainsley. The weather was so nice we were able to put you in the kiddie pool with your cute little board shorts. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture but I know there will be many more times like this since the weather is getting better. Sleep tight! XO

Your milestone this week is definitely being able to hold your bottle on your own! The thumbs are a little weak still so it's hard for you to hold it upward but you are definitely having fun pulling it in and out of your mouth ha

Week 15

Dave and Julie are here with their two girls Madison (5) and Olivia (3). Madison held you in her arms... so cute. You have this big 'ol head next to hers. You had so much fun looking at them and watching them play and smiling the whole week.

We brought you to a local park called Ryder Park on a nice warm day. Daddy put you in the sand for the very first time but you didn't seem to care one way or another. We decided not to do a dream feed for you last night and it worked! Daddy put you to bed around 8:15pm and as I'm typing this at 6:20am you are still asleep. Yeah!!! Too bad I'm not. The great part too is that we took you to Livermore to go wine tasting, hung out at Concannon the whole afternoon outside. You were in and out of naps. sooo great and mellow as usual and you still made it through the night without waking up. We are sooo thrilled. Now im sitting here, Day 2, and I want to wake you up so I can see your cute little face.

Today we are going to head up to San Francisco with the Kline's and check out the trolley and head to the beach. Let's hope for good weather. Well we got great weather!! You were soo good just hanging out in your car seat/stroller checking out the local scene and taking naps here and there.

You have been talkin' up a storm especially in the morning. Lots of coo'ing and googling. I need to remember to record it so you can hear it years from now. You haven't been eating as much as we had hoped so there's been some waking up at night around 4 or so, really depends but it hasn't been bad at all.
